LMD Opinion Survey Results
In January 2022, the City of Poway and the Landscape Maintenance District Advisory Group (LMDAG) conducted an online survey of residents living in LMD 83-1 and LMD 86-1 to gather opinions and feedback on the state of the current landscaping at neighborhood entrances, roadway trees along Twin Peaks and Espola roads, and overall landscape maintenance within the LMDs. The survey asked residents about concerns and expectations they have for their LMDs and to identify what landscape improvements and enhancements would matter most to them.
Complete Survey Results:
The complete results of the 12-question survey can be found here or on the City of Poway website at https://poway.org/206/Landscape-Maintenance-Districts.
Key Themes from Survey Results:
Three key themes emerged from the survey as shown in the graphs below. These themes reflect combined responses from both LMD 83-1 and LMD 86-1.
Theme 1 - Neighborhood Appearance: Residents are Concerned about the Appearance of the Current Landscaping and Trees in the LMDs
Theme 2 - Affinity for the Eucalyptus Trees: Residents are Somewhat Indifferent to Retaining the Eucalyptus Trees and View the Trees as a Fire Hazard
Theme 3 - Landscape Rehabilitation: Residents support replacing lost landscaping with low-maintenance, drought-tolerant, native and naturalized trees and plants.
